   4 In CollectionSpace versions 4.0 and higher, changes were introduced
   5 which streamline and simplify the process through which you configure
   6 fields in CollectionSpace's main record types.

   8 In most cases now, you will typically change the behavior of existing fields,
   9 or create extension schemas to add new fields specific to your museum and/or
  10 community of practice, merely by editing simpler XML-based configuration
  11 files within CollectionSpace's Application layer.

  13 Services layer files that were formerly located in this directory and
  14 other, similar directories - which you previously needed to manually
  15 create or edit - are now generated automatically from your configuration
  16 in the Application layer.
